THERAPEUTIC GRADE LIVE GRASSES
The Therapeutic Grade Live Grasses are available as Hard Red Winter Wheat, Kamut, or Barley Grass. Originally designed for Naturopath Practitioners, or individuals, that use grass in its highest nutritional state, as a treatment, or part of a treatment plan, to detoxify the organs and blood, rebalance the bodies nutritional needs, and to strengthen the bodies immune system. Since our therapeutic grade wheatgrass is much more nutrient rich than the typical grown wheatgrass, the amount of wheatgrass juice needed, to correct nutritional deficient caused ailments, will be less than other commercially grown grass for juicing, and from powder or frozen juice. In other words. our therapeutic grown grass has more of a therapeutic healing effect using less juice, when compared to conventionally grown grass because it is ounce for ounce more nutrient rich.
Therapeutic Grade Live Grass is, on average, ten - fourteen days older than the typical grown wheatgrass. Depending on the growing temperature, this grass is available for sale when it is between 20 - 24 days old, and very close to the jointing stage of growth, which is when it has reached its highest nutritional state. The grass is grown in our special deep soil, non toxic, Field Flat or pla containers.
It is not possible to attain jointing stage, highly nutritional wheatgrass, in a 10 day growing period. Additionally, Wheatgrass will become root bound and depleted of soil nutrition in a typical shallow soil plastic nursery flat and will rapidly decline in health when subject to these growing conditions, after it reaches 10 - 12 days of growth. The only way to achieve therapeutic grade grass is by providing a minimum of 21 days of growth in a deep soil depth container, or if it is grown in the field. Gourmet wheatgrass meets these requirements and more, to insure the provision of what may be the highest quality, most nutritious live grass available.
Gourmet Wheatgrass is the only grower of therapeutic grade grass, as defined below, that we know of, and is making this highly nutritional grass available on a wholesale and retail level. It starts with premium grade seed, above the 14% protein content trade grade level. Other typical wheatgrass seed used by most other growers is usually below the 14% protein level which is less expensive. The seed is sanitized with diluted food grade hydrogen peroxide. When the plants are 10 days old it is sanitized again, and again at the 20 day interval just before it becomes ready for sale and harvest. The grass becomes available for sale only when it has matured between 21 and 24 days, depending on growing conditions such as average temperature, sunlight duration, and average humidity. The grass is also monitored daily to make sure it is near or at the jointing stage of growth. Our outdoor grown therapeutic grown grass is further optimized by giving it as much direct sunlight as is possible. Since the grass is mobile by being grown in containers, at times of extreme heat and humidity, we will relocate it to a shadier location to lessen the stress caused by such environmental extremes.
